- It’s been a while since I …got a job?
- First I thought to burst out among everyone I know to tell this news then realised it doesn’t matter for them… and finally realised it actually doesn’t matter.
- Did I get someone to spend my salary? No.
- Did my parents allow to go out night? No.
- Did I get a job of my interest? Yes!
- “But what do you do?” Someone asked.
- “The work I always do” I replied.
- It’s actually difficult to make people understand what a developer actually does. Because the younger they are, the more “Can you hack my friend’s insta?” Arises.
- Work aside, let’s talk about the office.
- ——— Day1, Meeting Room —————
- “We don’t follow Cabin Culture” HR Said.
- “Ok..” Me pretending, I am new to listening to these office policies.
- “And we have 7days marriage leave policy” She continued with a shying gesture.
- “I guess we can skip that” I interrupted as soon as I got that it was not a joke.
- By the way, HR has a shying smile to everyone not just me.
- “But why these leave and deduction policy are verbal and not yet signed by me?” I asked.
- “Because it’s confidential” she said.
- I again pretended to be a complete fresher.
- I know that the teammates might be reading it from the portfolio after searching RkVirus, so I wouldn’t be breaking the confidentiality agreement that I actually signed. But anyways…
- ———— After a month —————
- “Mam, can the short breaks be added monthly like other leaves?” I asked.
- This is one of the million questions that I recently asked to HR.
———— Lunch break, outside office ———- “She is good, isn’t she” one of the teammate said, a backend developer, joined recently.
- “Yes, by nature of course” I tried changing the direction of the thought process.
- And this is why, I tend to ask more questions where I get the explanation with a smile. The smile I had long lost in history. A smile without reason. She has that.
- I know, the transition from internship guy to a software developer is missing, but that’s neither interesting nor complicated. I just realised no one is going to serve me a good job despite being a school topper. Fact. Thanks to Vaibhav, ex-boss Sudoyantra.
- Coming back to…
- “Those who put two legs in different boats are…” a line often spoken by Praveen…
- Ravi, where is respect? - Narmata mam
- So I was saying, a line often spoken by Praveen sir, experienced .NET developer.
- “But, what’s wrong in learning… at least”
- And just with the support of our TL, I never stopped learning .NET.
- It shouldn’t be hard to guess that .net is a backend technology that I am not much familiar with, and I, currently as a React developer has a motivation to go full-stack and beyond…
- “People work for money” Praveen sir said.
- I didn’t counter as it was 6PM.
- To be continued...
