- *Sanyam : The example of how to be popular as fast as possible. Currently he is being rusticated having 3 complaint letters against him. Though I don’t know the 3rd one. He is an extrovert as most of Haryanavis like him. He might be good by heart, but his misbehaviour exceeds limits. He simply targeted Riya, the most fair-complexioned girl of the class. Was it a first side love or face side love?
- Once outside ITI, while going home…
- “How is Riya, as per you?” He asked
- “Hm… she is good”
- “She is your bhabhi” he said, smiling
- “Ok.. but what if she denies?”
- “If she won’t become mine, she won’t be to anyone” he replied as per my expectation
- Obviously, Riya wrote one of those letters and somewhere I supported her to decide. Boys like Sanyam lacks maturity and they need to learn not everything is there Chacha or Tau’s property. Let see if he learns…
- *Aditya : Not less than Sanyam. Another bragger, but not experienced like Anmol. I still remember how he used to flaunt about…
- Aditya : “I cleared both JEE and NEET”
- Anyone : “Why are you here then?”,
- Aditya : “Because, there was no MBBS in DU”
- I never interrupted as there is no need.
- These days he is much quieter. I hope, he be interested in Sanyam the whole year not Aradhna. Or he just takes leave as always.
- *Kajal : The most talkative and extrovert of the class. She is the one I was interested in when every other guy was targeting a girl. At least, I am not the same as them. Them like Sanyam.
- We used to see each other during class and laugh for no reason. It didn’t last longer, as I am not good at flirting. I never try, it happens. As well as, the more extrovert she became the more I ignored her. How can an introvert like me make fun of an extrovert like her? Although she does to me. Anyway… I ignored, until she said
- “Sorry…”
- “…to make fun of you”
- “…to make fun of Alamara”
- That day, we had a plan to go Deshehra Mela, near Tilak Nagar, after ITI. I was the one who ignited it and Kajal added kerosene. The day, I was in uniform whereas everyone brought their casual dresses to wear. I couldn’t directly deny, so I ignored, not just Kajal but the whole class. I sat at a corner and started to practice shorthand. I didn’t even turn back, despite of having in limelight. The boys called it Sigma.
- “Say something! Or should I beat you?”
- “Please don’t make fun of yourself” I whispered
- She didn’t listen and returned to her seat.
- I continued this to another day then ended the next day by asking…
- “May I know the reason behind your sorry?”
- “Because I tease you” she said
- “You think, this much can hurt me?” I laughed and continued…
- “I can’t forgive you” I spoke as a statement
- “Ok…” She said giving a sad expression
- “Because you haven’t done any mistake” I ended with a smile.
- Then we talked for minutes, in English (as she is also an FEA student), while everyone watching and enjoying the scene. I noticed the audience and asked in surprise
- “You guys also know English??”
- Everybody laughed while nodding.
- The other classmates like Diksha, Sachin, Lakshya, Riya, etc aren’t much involved, so let’s save them for future pages of this diary.
- Finally, my turn!
- *Me: I know you know a lot about me, although not the current version. But for these guys I’m really not defined. Better for me of course.
- To Alamara, I might be just a good person and someone to talk to, a little. Once she asked and I replied, “I would like a girl who is a good person and not at all religious”. Only she knows once I liked Kajal rather Aradhna (which she guessed), giving a reason that I don’t believe on Aradhna’s face. As she doesn’t judge, I often talk open minded to her from virginity doubts to casual smoking.
- To Anmol, Yogesh and other backbenchers, I am a simple guy they can make fun of as well as an egoistic person, who is sitting to girls side with a purpose(Pov: I already cleared that to you but not them). When they ask and I don’t know, it’s egoistic to them.
- To Aradhna, I am studious which she already wants me to. She was the first to know about my situation-ship and now my past dream as well, to become a researcher with an PhD. I resist, but sometimes lose control to help her when she asks. Sanskar can understand this line very well.
- To Kajal, I am a humorous person who talks with meme logic. She pummels as a reflex when she understands the darkness in my humour. “Is he really innocent?” That’s what she said. I don’t tell her about myself. She just guesses. Despite an inexperienced girl, her 70% predictions are correct on me. She says… but I don’t bother as I can lie anytime to counter her horoscope.
- To everyone else, I am studious and non talkative introvert who don’t take jokes seriously, just ignores it. The person not interested in anything or anyone to talk, except Alam.
- Simply someone they don’t know.
